REVIEW: Etude House Precious Mineral BB Creams (All 3!)

After spending many hours on Etude House’s website unable to decide which of their three ‘Precious Mineral’ BB Creams I wanted, I eventually went and bought a sample pack on e-bay of all three so I could compare them!

They come in three varieties:

‘Cotton fit’ which is semi-matte and sets to and almost powder-like finish.

‘Blooming fit’ has a dewy finish and is much higher in moisture.

‘Perfect fit’ is neither overly dewy nor matte, and has higher coverage than the others.

Firstly, let me just say how impressed I was with these BB Creams! These were the first ever Korean BB Creams I had purchased, and I had high expectations – I wasn’t disappointed! These BB Creams are all high quality, and exactly what I was hoping for!

Packaging

As these were only samples, they do not have the same packaging as their full-sized versions, but they were adorable none the less! Etude House is famous for their signature girly and cute packaging, and these were no exceptions!

Each came in a small plastic tube with a screw on plastic cap, and were colored to match the version it was. ‘Blooming Fit’ came in a pastel pink, ‘Cotton Fit’ was white and ‘Perfect Fit’ was a pale cream.

I know the full versions of these BB Creams come in a large, similar looking tube with a pump type lid. I love that because it means the product doesn’t mix with the air so it stays fresher and is more hygienic!

 Blooming Fit

The first of the three I shall review is Blooming Fit! This was the dewy-ist of the three, and subsequently had a thinner, more watery consistency. Here you can see a swatch of it on the inside of my arm:

I got all of these in the shade No.2, which is the palest of the three shade these come in. Blooming Fit was able to match my very pale skin nicely, but there are darker, more natural shades available for those who don’t want to look so ‘white’. It was great for the summer months or when I want to look a little more natural.

This BB Cream has a very dewy finish, which was a little too much for my taste. I found that due to its finish it was shiny and slippery. It didn’t really seem to adhere to my face and didn’t have very much staying power as a result. If you were to touch your face while wearing Blooming Fit, some of the product would definitely transfer to your hand. This wasn’t too much of an issue for me and my very dry skin, but I definitely would not recommend this variety of the three to someone with oily skin. It should be fine for those with dry to normal skin who want to achieve a more glowing and dewy look.

Blooming Fit probably had the least coverage of the three, but it did create a lovely ‘barely there’ effect – perfect for a no-makeup look! This BB cream is perfect for when I want to wear lighter makeup and let my skin breath, but isn’t strong enough to cover major blemishes or discolouration on its own, you’d definitely need some concealer.

Over All Rating: 8/10

Pros: Lightweight, moisturizing, natural finish.

Cons: Light coverage, little oil control, not long-lasting.

Repurchase? No, as I like a little more coverage.

Cotton Fit

The second BB cream I shall review is ‘Cotton Fit’. This version is the only one in this line with a non-dewy finish. ‘Cotton Fit’ has a much drier texture than the other two, and sets to a semi-matte, velvety finish. I found that this had a thicker consistency than the other two, and was much harder to spread and blend. Here’s a swatch on the inside of my arm:

‘Cotton Fit’ was not very similar to my skin tone. It was the darkest of the three, and didn’t look very natural because of it. I am very pale though, so it shouldn’t be an issue for most people.

One thing I found pretty odd with these BB Creams is that despite buying them all in the one shade (No.2), they didn’t swatch as the same colour. That didn’t bother me too much though, as the difference is fairly subtle.

This BB Cream had a semi-matte finish, so it would be more suitable for those with oily skin. As someone with dry, often flaky skin, I did find that is accentuated my dry patches, and dried them out further. I wouldn’t recommend this to people with dry skin, but it would be perfect if you have oily to combination skin.

The coverage that ‘Cotton Fit’ gave was quite good. It covered the redness on my nose and cheeks nicely, as well as any minor imperfections. For larger blemishes, some concealer is needed.

Over All Rating: 8/10

Pros: Long-lasting, semi-matte, good oil control.

Cons: Dries out my skin, hard to blend.

Repurchase? No, but mainly because it’s not suited to my skin type.

Perfect Fit

Last, but most certainly not least, I will review ‘Perfect Fit’! This was my favorite out of the three, it’s perfect! This BB Cream has a slightly dewy finish – just enough to look ‘glowing’ without out being shiny. The consistency was somewhere between the other two; smooth and creamy, but not watery or too dry. You can see a swatch of it here:

‘Perfect Fit’ was the lightest of the three in colour, which is exactly what my super pale face needs. I found that this one was really good at making my skin look brighter. It doesn’t look whiter, just fresher and more awake. ‘Perfect Fit’ definitely has better coverage than the other two. Wearing it alone, not only is all my redness is covered, but it conceals blemishes too! I had no need to use a concealer at all when using this product – It’s great!

Over All Rating: 9.5/10

Pros: Great coverage, brightening, natural finish, long-lasting.

Cons: I genuinely don’t have anything I dislike about this one!

Repurchase? YES! In fact, I Already have! I use it everyday, and it’s become my go-to product.
